This video pretty much sums up what I’ll be doing this summer. In the Czech Republic, the aftermath of the fall of communism has taken a huge toll on the nation’s spirituality. Like the video says, only one percent of the youth in eastern Europe believe Christ died for their sins. Most everyone claims to be atheists.

I want to go to stretch myself. I’m horrible at sharing my faith, even to my closest friends. So I hope that this trip will push me to just go for it, in that respect. But also, I really want to go so I can have the opportunity to teach English as a ministry. I love English and I love doing missions work, so combining the two is really exciting. I think it might even be something I’d like to pursue as a career.

We’ll be leaving July 26th (or 25th, depending on our flight situation) and won’t be coming back until August 11th. I’m beyond stoked to be able to spend 17 days with our team of six and be able to see parts of the world I’ve never seen before. But above all else, I’m excited for what God’s got for us over there. He has had it planned since the beginning of time, after all.
